Salsa Latina - Released in 2020 – 34 years after its recording in 1986...
Destiny would have the release of this magnificent album delayed, due to a fire that destroyed the popular Miami Nightclub Summit Lounge. The album titled after the club’s House Band was recorder merely 60 days prior to that fateful night.
The Master Recording Tapes were in the club that evening, in the chaos, they were removed and stored, then forgotten for 34 years till their reappearance in March 2020.
The album is a marvelous production that features some of the most talented musicians of the time. Showcasing the incomparable voice of the late popular Cuban singer Israel Kantor and his unique Benny More style. Musical arrangements were masterfully written by a then young Isidro Infante, now a legendary Multi-Grammy award winner.
In addition, great music legends like the late Loui Ramirez, Adalberto Santiago, Rey de la Paz, Yayo el Indio & Raul Marrero all collaborated in the crafting of this brilliant work. Israel Kantor would later be nominated for Two Grammy’s himself prior to his untimely death in 2006.
The family of visionary and entrepreneur Roberto Coalla is thrilled to finally make available to the Salsa Loving World this masterful compilation of distinctive tracks. Especially the wonderful adaptation to salsa of “SERE” by the great Isidro Infante, originally recorded by Jose Jose as an upbeat ballad.
